In her new book, Facing the Fracture, Tania Israel, a professor in the Department of Counseling, Clinical & School Psychology, takes a closer look at how we got here and what we can do to successfully navigate the challenges of living in a divided nation. Tania Israel's scholarship focuses on interventions to support the mental health and well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) individuals and communities; privilege and oppression; intersections among gender, ethnicity, and sexual orientation; and social justice. "As a counseling psychologist who does interventions, I am not as much about investigating the problem as I am about investigating solutions," said Israel, "I thought, 'Is there something I can do to help?'"
