Update #25: Operational Hours Updates at FEMA Registration Assistance Point, Comfort Stations, and Treasure Island Beach

Oct. 4, 2024 - The City of St. Petersburg is updating the operational hours of Comfort Stations, a FEMA registration assistance point, and the St. Petersburg Municipal Beach at Treasure Island as part of Hurricane Helene recovery efforts.

FEMA Registration Assistance Point

A Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) federal registration assistance point will open at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Enoch D Davis Center (1111 18th Ave. S) and operate until 7 p.m. each day throughout the week. Staff will be available to help residents navigate applying for FEMA assistance.

Residents looking for updates on their application should visit the Disaster Recovery Center. For more information about the Disaster Recovery Center, visit disaster.pinellas.gov.

Available FEMA Assistance

Residents can register for FEMA assistance online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov, via the FEMA app or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362).

Comfort Station Update

The last operational day for Comfort Stations located at Azalea Recreation Center, Enoch D. Davis Center, Robert Recreation Center, and USF St. Pete was today, Oct. 4. Comfort Stations will no longer be staffed by City personnel, but residents can still visit the locations during their standard business hours to cool down and use the centers for their intended use.

Residents can still visit a local St. Pete library branch to cool off, charge electronic devices, or use the internet.

Treasure Island Beach

Due to impacts from Hurricane Helene, the St. Petersburg Municipal Beach at Treasure Island, including the snack bar and facilities, is closed until further notice. The City will continue to provide updates on the reopening of the St. Petersburg Municipal Beach as they are available.

10/3 City Council Meeting

This week, Mayor Kenneth T. Welch and several members of the City's leadership team provided a Hurricane Helene update at the City Council meeting. The update included information about the City's Hurricane Helene response and ongoing recovery efforts, including debris collection and available resources for residents.
