Washington, DC, Oct. 2, 2024 - - The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) is excited to announce that Rep. Dina Titus (D-01-NV) will open the Collegiate Connect program taking place Thursday, Oct. 24, at the NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE).

Titus, who has long supported NBAA's convention, will welcome tomorrow's business aviation leaders to the show and discuss the many careers available to them in the industry.

"Business aviation in Southern Nevada will continue to grow as our economy expands and diversifies. The 2024 Collegiate Connect is a great opportunity for local students to learn about how they can pursue career paths in this exciting field," said Titus. "They will be exposed to a full suite of training programs and access to hundreds of exhibitors connected to business aviation. I am confident this will lead to rewarding careers for our students as they move into the competitive world marketplace."

"NBAA is thrilled that Congresswoman Titus will be joining us again for Collegiate Connect. She was an impactful speaker when she joined us to address the students in 2021," said NBAA Senior Vice President, Education, Training and Workforce Development Jo Damato, CAM. "We know she is passionate about career-focused education and highlighting career path opportunities for the next generation of leaders."

Titus, whose district includes Las Vegas and Harry Reid International Airport (LAS), also previously spoke at the 2015 NBAA-BACE Opening General Session. She is currently in her seventh term in the U.S. House of Representatives, serving on the House Subcommittee for Aviation as part of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.

In November 2023, Titus talked with NBAA's Business Aviation Insider magazine about the future of advanced air mobility (AAM), workforce issues, the importance of the business aviation industry to her state and district and more. Read the full interview.

Collegiate Connect takes place the final day of the show and admission to the one-day program is free for all registered students, faculty and chaperones. Attendees must present a school/university ID at a registration counter to obtain a student badge.

Following the welcome from Titus, NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen and others, students will take part in a panel discussion where young professionals and seasoned management-level speakers share their strategies for attracting and retaining top talent in business aviation. This is followed by networking opportunities with young people currently working in professions they may be interested in.

A tour of the exhibit hall concludes at the NBAA-BACE Career Fair where students can connect with recruiters, get headshots taken and more. Learn more about Collegiate Connect.
