Sept. 28, 2024 - City crews are working diligently to assess damage from Hurricane Helene and provide resources for impacted residents and businesses.
We would like to thank the task force teams assisting St. Pete Fire Rescue and St. Pete Police Department teams with search and rescue operations.
Residents can rest assured that these crews are working in partnership with SPFR and SPPD team members within impacted neighborhoods.
On Sunday, Sept. 29, residents who have lost power can cool off and charge their electronic devices at locations across St. Pete.
In order to assist residents and businesses with their recovery efforts, downtown parking meters and time limit requirements have been suspended through the weekend. If anyone has received a ticket for an expired meter or overtime parking this weekend, the ticket will be automatically voided. Regular parking enforcement will resume on Monday, Sept. 30 at 8 a.m.
If your City trash or recycling bin was misplaced during the storm, you can request a new bin in SeeClickFix app (under the Storm Other category) or by calling 727-893-7111.
Some City boat ramps were impacted by storm surge by Hurricane Helene. The following boat ramps are closed:
City crews have completed a first sweep of the entire city to push debris to the side of the road to clear roadways. Crews will do additional sweeps to remove debris from the side of the road and clear debris from residential curbs.
Crews will do multiple citywide sweeps to pick up residential storm debris. Residents should expect debris to be collected no sooner than Oct. 7. DO NOT place debris in trash bags.
Before you dispose of storm debris from your home, be sure to document your flood damage. Take photos and videos of the damage, including structural and personal property damage on the inside and outside of your home, before discarding items. Your insurance adjuster and/or Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will need evidence of the damage to prepare your claim.
