Equifax Supports Family Promise of Greater Denver

THE EQUIFAX MORTGAGE & HOUSING TEAM RECENTLY PARTNERED with Family Promise of Greater Denver, a Denver-based non-profit organization whose mission is to form relationships with families at risk of or experiencing homelessness by providing shelter, meals, and a spectrum of supportive services as they obtain permanent stability. Their core shelter program focuses on a housing-first approach.

While attending the 2024 Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) Annual Convention & Expo, the team made a monetary donation to Family Promise of Greater Denver in lieu of customer gifts, which will help provide essential services such as rental/move-in assistance, and purchase items to support their shelter program. Equifax is also collecting items for Welcome Home Baskets, which are given to guests who are about to move into housing of their own. These baskets are full of household items to stock their pantries.

"Family Promise of Greater Denver's goal to end homelessness for families aligns with our commitment to help provide more financially-inclusive opportunities that positively impact lives," stated Craig Crabtree, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Equifax Mortgage & Housing. "This donation helps support Family Promise' ability to change the trajectory of an individual or even an entire family. A core mission at Equifax is ensuring communities have equal access to financial opportunities to succeed."

In 2023, Family Promise of Greater Denver assisted 826 individuals and 247 families who were at risk of or who are currently facing homelessness through its prevention, diversion, shelter, and stabilization services. Family Promise of Greater Denver is one of the only agencies in Colorado to offer complete wrap-around, life-saving services to families in their time of greatest need from preventing individuals from becoming homeless to providing stabilization services for up to 2 years after leaving our shelter program.

"We are committed to tackling the root causes of homelessness while helping our at-risk or unsheltered families through supportive services such as prevention, diversion, shelter and stabilization," said Jeri Apodaca, Interim Executive Director of Family Promise of Greater Denver. "The services we are able to provide our community wouldn't be possible without the leadership and partnership of organizations like Equifax."

Equifax is committed to enabling the inclusive financial opportunities that move people forward. Last November, the company made a donation to Project HOME, a Philadelphia-based non-profit organization whose mission is to empower adults, children, and families to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty and alleviate the underlying causes of poverty. And in May 2023, Equifax signed the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) Home for All Pledge, which supports working toward a more inclusive and equitable industry that expands homeownership to underserved communities.
