Disturbance leads to Serious Injury Inside Bar in the Kerns Neighborhood, Suspect Quickly Captured by Officers

November 16, 2024 18:13

One man was seriously injured after a physical altercation Friday night in a Kerns Neighborhood bar.

On Friday, November 15, 2024 at 11:54 p.m., Portland Police from Central Precinct responded to a report of a stabbing in a bar in the 2600 block of Northeast Sandy Boulevard. When they arrived they found an adult male with serious wounds to his neck. While officers tended to the victim, other officers gathered suspect information. They learned the suspect had just left the bar. Officers searching the area quickly located the suspect two blocks west of the bar, in the 2400 block of Northeast Sandy Boulevard, and arrested him.

The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance where he was admitted with serious injuries. The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit responded and assisted with the investigation. Initial investigation indicates that the suspect struck the victim with a glass, breaking it, leading to the victim sustaining serious injuries to his neck.

The suspect, Abraham Bravo, 28, of Portland, was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of Assault in the Second Degree and an outstanding arrest warrant.

This investigation is ongoing, and Detectives believe that witnesses may have left the bar prior to police arrival. If anyone has information about this incident and has not yet talked to police, please e-mail Detective Michael Greenlee at [email protected] and reference case number 24-294041.
