Just a few weeks after her visit to Argentina, the President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, received the President of the Argentine Republic, Javier Milei, at Palazzo Chigi today.
The discussion allowed the two leaders to reaffirm the shared desire to further strengthen the already solid bilateral partnership, with the aim of finalising a 2025-2030 Action Plan in the coming months in order to deepen the already wide-ranging areas of cooperation between the two nations.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to reiterate the importance attributed to judicial cooperation and collaboration on security, with particular reference to the fight against transnational organised crime, as well as Italy's intention to increase its economic and commercial presence in Argentina, starting with energy and sectors with high added value.
At the end of the meeting, the two leaders agreed to also maintain close coordination on the main issues on the international agenda.
