New Truck Will Help in Winter Weather Battle

A new 10-ton Peterbilt truck coming to the Township this winter will have state-of-the-art equipment to battle snow and ice.

The vehicle was ordered in January 2024 and is set to arrive in the coming months. It will replace a 1985 Mack truck that has been in service for nearly 40 years. A new Epoke salt spreader is needed to outfit the new Peterbilt as part of the vehicle upgrade.

Epoke salt spreaders have been used in the Township since 2011, with parts, training, and calibration included with equipment purchase. Data shows that the spreaders reduce salt usage, lead to cost savings each year, and reduce the overall environmental impact.
