Limatech obtains EASA certification to market its batteries

Limatech obtains ETSOA and ADOA certification from EASA, becoming Europe's leading producer of lithium batteries for aerospace. Ready to produce and deliver from 2024. Discover our certified innovation.

Industrial start-up Limatech announces that it has been awarded ETSOA (European Technical Standard Order Approval) and ADOA (Alternative procedure to Design Organisation Approval) certification by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), becoming the first European lithium battery designer and producer, and the second global player approved to market its batteries for the aerospace market. After extensive battery testing, Limatech received ADOA approval from EASA on September 30, 2024. This certification, held by fewer than 300 companies worldwide, approves the compliance of Limatech's design system with civil aviation standards, and is accompanied by the first EASA-issued ETSO C179b certification in Europe to approve the technical compliance of rechargeable lithium batteries with aviation standards. Approval of this ETSO (ETSOA) makes it possible to address the original equipment market with an off-the-shelf product for specific installation on aircraft. With an initial production capacity of 500 units per year, and its partnership with OEMServices for logistics and distribution, Limatech will be ready to produce and deliver its batteries to its first customers in the coming months.
