Our Executive Director, Ravi R. Prasad, will attend the 2nd International Conference on School Meals and Public Procurement in New Taipei City, Taiwan between 16 and 17 October 2024. This forum is hosted by IFOAM Organics Asia and the Taiwan Indigenous Peoples Education and Development Association (ATIPD), and co-organized with the International Network of Organic Farmers Organizations (INOFO), the Women in Organic Agriculture of Asia (WOAA), the Youth Organic Global Network (YOGN), the UN Organic Food System Program, and the ICLEI (Local Governments for Sustainability).

Following the success of the first conference held online in June 2022, the New Taipei City Government, the Asian Local Governments for Organic Agriculture (ALGOA), and the Global Alliance for Organic Districts (GAOD) have decided to jointly organise an in-person event that focuses on sharing international methods for promoting organic school lunches and public procurement, aiming to establish an international network for more extensive exchange on the best practices on school meals and public procurement as pathways to manifest sustainable food systems, net carbon and achieve SDGs.

The two-day event features a diverse program with 4 sessions surrounding the policies on and the practical implementations of school lunches and public procurement, as well as organic districts and public procurement.
