BMI is extremely proud of our many affiliates who were recognized last night at the 2024 Latin GRAMMY Awards, held at the Kaseya Center in Miami. Celebrating 25 years of honoring the very best of Latin music in Spanish and Portuguese, this prestigious ceremony saw a wide range of BMI's incredible music creators singled out for this impressive accolade.
The biggest winner of the evening was Juan Luis Guerra, who took home four awards, including the major prizes, Record of the Year for "Mambo 23" and Album of the Year for Radio Güira. The Dominican legend was also given Best Merengue/Bachata Album for Radio Güira and Best Tropical Song for "Mambo 23," which he delivered a lively performance of later in the evening. The night's other notable multiple winner was Edgar Barrera, who received the Best Regional Song award for "El Amor De Su Vida," as well as the highly coveted Producer of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.
Beyond the awards, it was a tremendous evening of music, featuring riveting performances by BMI songwriters including Juan Luis Guerra, Anitta, DJ Khaled, Edgar Barrera, Luis Fonsi, Oscar D'León, Grupo Niche, Joe Jonas, Residente and Pitbull.
