Stevenson University has partnered with ChargePoint to install electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at the Mustang Stadium parking lot near the main entrance to South Campus.
"The installation helps us reduce our carbon footprint and provides Stevenson students, faculty, and staff with a convenient, easy-to-use charging station for their electric vehicles," said Jim Mustard, Vice President for Administration and Facilities.
The two stations each contain two charging ports and are available for immediate use by students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Use this link to access a guide detailing how to use the charging stations.
The Faculty Council's Environmental Sustainability Committee played a pivotal role in installing the chargers on campus.
"Installing EV charging stations at Stevenson was on the Environmental Sustainability Committee's agenda for several years," said Inna Alesina, Professor of Art and Visual Communication Design and Chair of the Environmental Sustainability Committee. "We are very happy the first two are installed. This is good news not only for people who already drive EVs to campus or who are looking into switching to an electric vehicle, but it also it shows we care about environment. Mustangs go green!"
