Saint Vincent College rises on U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges Rankings
LATROBE, PA - Saint Vincent College is listed No. 114 among the top national liberal arts colleges in the 2025 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges Rankings. The publication also feted Saint Vincent as a top performer in social mobility-which assesses how well schools graduate economically disadvantaged students-and recognized the College's undergraduate engineering program.
The annual rankings evaluate nearly 1,500 national colleges and universities on up to 17 measures of academic quality and place an emphasis on social mobility and outcomes for graduating college students.
"We are thrilled to be recognized in the U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings," said Fr. Paul Taylor, O.S.B., C'87, S'91, president of Saint Vincent College. "This honor reflects the dedication, diligence and collective efforts of our students, faculty, staff and alumni and particularly the commitment of our faculty to excellence in their scholarship and teaching."
U.S. News & World Report includes schools whose national liberal arts rankings emphasize undergraduate education and award at least half of their degrees in the liberal arts fields of study. Saint Vincent College ranked No. 114 among 211 institutions selected for inclusion-an improvement of 10 spots from last year and the 15th consecutive year the College has been rated in the upper echelon.
Saint Vincent College maintained its high ranking among national liberal arts colleges on U.S. News & World Report's list of top performers on social mobility, coming in at No. 98. This ranking is based on Saint Vincent College's successful retention and graduation rates of economically disadvantaged students and Pell Grant recipients.
The College's undergraduate engineering program is ranked No. 236 among 286 non-doctorate programs accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc. This marks the Saint Vincent engineering program's first appearance among the U.S. News & World Report rankings. The rankings are based on the judgments of deans and senior faculty at peer institutions who participated in a 2024 peer assessment survey.
"I am very proud of our undergraduate engineering program," said Dr. Stephen Jodis, dean the Herbert W. Boyer School of Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Computing. "I am excited about the future of this program-the processes the program has established for continuous improvement and where those processes will take it."
This is the 40th year in which U.S. News & World Report has released its Best Colleges rankings to provide prospective students and their families with the comparative merits of the undergraduate programs at America's colleges and universities. The rankings offer detailed information about the institutions and data on factors such as graduation rates, graduate indebtedness and postgraduate earnings.
