President Schulz named to Puget Sound Business Journal Power 100

Washington State University President Kirk Schulz was once again recognized as one of the Puget Sound's most influential and impactful leaders.

Schulz ranked among the Puget Sound Business Journal's Power 100 - an illustrious group of public and private sector leaders active in the Seattle area. It's his second year among the Power 100, which the Puget Sound Business Journal began publishing in 2019.

Schulz is ranked alongside University of Washington President Ana Mari Cauce, former WSU Regent Heather Redman, and a bevy of Fortune 500 company executives.

Schulz became WSU's 11th president in 2016 following his time as the leader of Kansas State University. During his tenure, WSU saw record-setting levels of philanthropy, including raising $167.9 million in private gifts in fiscal year 2023, as well as the full accreditation of the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine in 2021.

Schulz announced last year that he plans to retire in June 2025, and is working alongside the WSU Board of Regents to ensure a seamless transition for the next leader of the institution.
