June 25, 2024 - Celebrate Park and Recreation Month in July and discover the variety of programs offered by Lakewood Parks and Recreation. Learn about the essential services provided and the dedicated staff who make it all possible, in alignment with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA).

Throughout July, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our hardworking parks and recreation employees who ensure our outdoor spaces and recreation centers are safe and accessible for everyone. From maintaining our beautiful parks to organizing engaging recreational activities, their work and commitment to our vibrant community makes Lakewood full of possibilities.

Create lasting memories this July by participating in a variety of activities in Lakewood. With over 7,000 acres of parks, six recreation and community centers, two picturesque golf courses and a multitude of programs and events, Lakewood offers an extensive range of recreational opportunities. Supporting these endeavors are nearly 200 full-time employees and up to 350 seasonal and part-time employees during the summer season, dedicated to enhancing Lakewood's arts, parks, and recreation experiences.
