(COLUSA, CA) November 6, 2024 - The Colusa County Board of Supervisors is pleased to announce the appointment of Bob Buckner as Colusa County Assessor, effective January 1, 2025. Buckner, currently serving as Assistant Assessor, will step into this role to continue advancing the County's commitment to fair and accurate property assessments. Buckner was appointed on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 as a result of a public process in response to the pending retirement of Colusa County Assessor Arnold Gross.
With over 23 years of experience in property appraisal and assessment across multiple counties, Buckner brings extensive knowledge and a strong foundation in public service. His background includes a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from CSU Chico, advanced certification in property appraisal, and leadership roles in property assessment offices in Butte, Sutter, and Colusa counties.
"Bob Buckner's experience, dedication, and leadership have proven invaluable to Colusa County, and we are excited to see him lead the Assessor's Office," said Supervisor Gary J. Evans, Chair of the Colusa County Board of Supervisors. "His commitment to public service, community, and efficiency aligns well with our goals for a seamless transition."
In his role as Assistant Assessor since 2021, Buckner has managed various responsibilities including the valuation of possessory interests, gas wells, and agricultural properties, along with managing budgetary and operational aspects of the Assessor's Office. His dedication to transparent and equitable property assessments has contributed to the office's efficiency and has improved service to Colusa County property owners.

The Colusa County Assessor's Office is responsible for the identification, valuation, and assessment of all taxable property within the County. The office is dedicated to providing fair and accurate assessments that support local government and public services.
