The Senate confirmed several nominations and passed the Fort Belknap Indian Community Water Rights Settlement Act (S. 1987), the Winnebago Land Transfer Act (H.R. 1240), and Technical Corrections to the Unleashing American Innovators Act (S. 3960).

This Week In Washington

  • Senate - The Senate confirmed several nominations and passed the Fort Belknap Indian Community Water Rights Settlement Act (S. 1987), the Winnebago Land Transfer Act (H.R. 1240), and Technical Corrections to the Unleashing American Innovators Act (S. 3960).
  • House - The House was in recess.
  • Biden Administration - On June 20, the Biden Administration releasedupdated Agency Climate Adaptation Plans for 2024 to 2027. These plans apply to 20 different agencies and aim to expand efforts to ensure their facilities, employees, resources, and operations are resilient to climate change impacts. On June 21, the Treasury Department released a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) on outbound investment restrictions in countries of concern. It would require U.S. persons to provide notification for certain transactions and prohibit certain other transactions. It also proposes excepting certain types of transactions from the requirements of the rule, including investments in a publicly traded security or a security issued by an investment company. The NPRM comment period ends on August 4, 2024.

  • Senate - The Senate will reconvene on Monday, July 8.
  • House- The House will reconvene on Tuesday, June 25, and may consider the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act of 2025 (H.R. 8752), the Department of State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Appropriations Act of 2025 (H.R. 8771), and the Department of Defense Appropriations Act of 2025 (H.R. 8774).
