Hall Homecoming and Family Weekend 2024

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - Seton Hall University proudly welcomed over 2,500 alumni, parents, students and friends to its first-ever Homecoming and Family Weekend, held from November 1 to November 4. The weekend was filled with enthusiasm and unity as the Seton Hall community gathered for a series of exciting events that honored tradition, celebrated school spirit and showcased Pirate pride.

Kicking off on Friday evening, students and alumni participated in the first "Stomp the Hall," a lively step show competition that brought campus spirit to new heights. Saturday was packed with engaging events, including carnival games and remarks from President Monsignor Joseph Reilly on the Green, the vibrant heart of campus. Later, attendees headed to Walsh Gym to cheer on the women's basketball team in an exhibition game, followed by a ceremony where the men's basketball team proudly unveiled their NIT Championship banner, marking a moment of pride for all.

The excitement continued as Seton Hall's men's soccer team faced Villanova in a thrilling, sold-out game, emerging victorious and thrilling fans with their performance. Saturday wrapped up with alumni gathering for a festive Happy Hour, reconnecting with friends and celebrating their connection to Seton Hall.

Sunday's activities began bright and early with the 40th Annual Farinella 5K Run, an inspiring event that brought together runners of all ages. This was followed by a Jazz Brunch, where over 250 guests enjoyed live music, delicious food and a warm atmosphere of camaraderie.

On Monday, November 4, Seton Hall welcomed its 22nd President, Monsignor Joseph Reilly, with an official investiture ceremony, providing an opportunity for the Pirate community to unite in support of the new president. The evening concluded with the first men's basketball game of the season-a spirited finale that captured the essence of Pirate pride and sent the crowd home energized for the season ahead.

"Our vision for Hall Homecoming and Family Weekend was to expand on the strong traditions of Seton Hall Weekend, and it was incredible to see alumni, families, parents, friends, students, faculty and staff come together to celebrate our shared Pirate pride," said Anthony Bellucci, M.B.A. '18, Associate Vice President of Alumni Engagement. "The turnout was outstanding, and it was truly rewarding to see so many familiar faces back on campus."

Seton Hall's inaugural Homecoming and Family Weekend was a remarkable success, providing a memorable opportunity for the entire Pirate family to come together. This celebration marked the start of a new tradition, uniting the University community in pride, fellowship and excitement for the future.
