Food Insecure Cost-Share Grant Funds Announced…

JEFFERSON CITY -

The Missouri Department of Agriculture announced today that 17 projects will receive funding through the Food Insecure Cost-Share Grant Program. The competitive grant program will provide up to $50,000 per project to address food insecurity in urban areas.

Grant funds may be used to increase food production and availability within an urban area; demonstrate growth of local economic communities; increase local economic impact; increase availability of food to local residents; or enhance already established areas within a community and provide assistance to the community.

The following projects were awarded grant funding in 2024:

  • Dexter Parks & Recreation, Dexter
  • Downtown Joplin Alliance, Joplin
  • EarthDance, Ferguson
  • First Presbyterian Church of Warrensburg, Warrensburg
  • George Washington Carver Farm, Kansas City
  • Global One Urban Farming, Kansas City
  • Good Journey Development Foundation, St. Louis
  • Kanbe's Market, Kansas City
  • Kennett Ministerial Alliance, Inc., Kennett
  • Midtown Community Services, St. Louis
  • New Roots Urban Farm, St. Louis
  • Pantry for Adair County, Kirksville
  • Seed St. Louis, Inc., St. Louis
  • South Side Farms, Cape Girardeau
  • St. Joseph Community Gardens, St. Joseph
  • UG Commissary, LLC, Bridgeton
  • University of Missouri - Kansas City, Kansas City
