German team advises EQT on acquisition of ju:niz Energy GmbH

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised the global investment organization EQT on the acquisition of ju:niz Energy GmbH. The acquisition marks EQT's first transaction under its "Transition Infrastructure Strategy," which will seek to scale businesses that help enable the transition across industries to clean energy and a more resource-efficient, circular economy.

ju:niz Energy GmbH, based in Aschheim near Munich, Germany is a developer and operator of intelligent, large-scale battery energy storage systems with grid-connection. Its business comprises the entire value chain: from project development through planning and construction to operation and maintenance of the plants.

EQT is a global investment organization with EUR 246 billion in total assets under management (EUR 134 billion in fee-generating assets under management), divided into two business segments: Private Capital and Real Assets. EQT owns portfolio companies and assets in Europe, Asia Pacific, and the Americas and supports them in achieving sustainable growth, operational excellence, and market leadership.
