Altman Puts NJ-07 At Risk

October 18, 2024

Sue Altman's attempted rebrand is truly something to behold, but perhaps her most blatant flip flop is her position on decriminalizing drugs. Let's take a trip down memory lane, shall we?

In 2021, Squad-member Cori Bush, alongside New Jersey Democrat Bonnie Watson Coleman introduced the Drug Policy Reform Act, which would have decriminalized all drugs.

Per the Drug Policy Alliance, the legislation would have "eliminat[ed] criminal penalties for personal use possession of all scheduled drugs (marijuana, heroin, crack/cocaine, etc.)."

Ms. Altman attacked opponents of the bill stating, "free yourself from your hysterical 1980s 'war on drugs' mindset."

By embracing the "Drug Policy Reform Act" Sue signaled that she was a-okay with decriminalizing all drugs- including heroin and crack/cocaine.

"Sue Altman is a radical activist who is trying to rebrand for craven political purposes. Whether it's her flip flop on the SALT deduction, Defunding the Police, and now drug policy, the truth is she cannot be trusted." - NRCC Spokeswoman Savannah Viar
