Donald Trump’s Closers: His Favorite Election-Denying Conspiracy Theorists Arrow

Ahead of Donald Trump's rally today with Turning Point USA, DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement:

"Donald Trump is spending the closing days of the campaign once again rallying with extreme, election-denying conspiracy theorists who have repeatedly put Trump's selfish ego over our democracy and the American people. After praising January 6 as 'a day of love,' Trump is cozying up to MAGA extremists whose records include pushing election lies, busing people to the insurrection, and downplaying attacks on the Capitol and law enforcement. Voters in Georgia and across the country have had enough - they know Trump will put our democracy on the line, and will reject him in November just like they did four years ago."

Donald Trump is campaigning with extreme election-denying conspiracy theorists whose records include pushing lies about the 2020 election, whitewashing the violence on January 6, and refusing to commit to accepting this election's results.

CNBC: "[Charlie] Kirk has continued to parrot the president's attacks on the election, falsely claiming Biden's victory was fraudulent.

"'I will say it very bluntly. This election was stolen from President Trump. And the changes to the election, to the ballot questions, to the voter registration, to the access problems in these states' Kirk said in December."

Daily Beast: "Following the events of Jan 6., Kirk deleted a tweet in which he touted that '80-plus buses full of patriots' were sent to Washington, D.C., on Turning Point USA's dime."

Southern Poverty Law Center: "Two days before Jan. 6, 2021, [Tucker] Carlson told his audience that the 2020 election was 'unfair' and had been rigged against then-President Trump."

Tucker Carlson: "It's very clear January 6th was essentially what it appeared to be: Thousands of ordinary American citizens, voters - people who believe in our democracy far more fervently than Liz Cheney ever has - came to Washington because they sincerely believed democracy had been thwarted. They believed the presidential election was unfair - and they have a right to believe that. And by the way, in many ways, they were correct. The presidential election was unfair. And you don't have to get into anything about voting machines to believe that."

Carlson: "The overwhelming majority… were peaceful. They were orderly and meek. These were not insurrectionists. They were sightseers."

The Guardian: "Marjorie Taylor Greene led delegation to visit Capitol attack defendants in jail"

CNN: "Greene again downplays Capitol riot and says it would have been armed if she led it"

ABC News: "Marjorie Taylor Greene says if she ran Jan. 6 Capitol attack, 'We would have won'"

Newsweek: "Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has shared a video to Twitter that argues that the 2020 presidential election was stolen through a combination of the COVID-19 pandemic and voter fraud.

"Greene, who was recently appointed to serve on the powerful House of Representatives' Oversight Committee, shared the video entitled 'How to steal an election' on Saturday morning.

"In just over a minute, a narrator alleges a vast conspiracy to steal the 2020 presidential election from Donald Trump involving the media, 'Big Tech,' the Democratic Party and others, with a particular focus on President Joe Biden."

HuffPost: "Controversial Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) is still convinced the 2020 presidential election was rigged but admits she has no evidence of election fraud.

"Greene admitted she had no proof during an interview Friday at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Orlando, Florida, but is sticking with her conviction that the presidential vote was rigged, even though she apparently doesn't dispute the 2020 election results that made her a congresswoman:

"'I proudly objected on Jan. 6,' Greene said. 'I would object again today because I know for a fact there was so much wrong in that election and I believe it was stolen. Do I know how? No, I don't know how.'"

Laura Coates, CNN: "Will you accept the results of the 2024 election regardless of who wins, yes or no?"

Ben Carson: "I will accept the results if it's done in a fair and transparent way."

Coates: "Do you have reason to doubt that it would be done in a fair and transparent way?"

Carson: "Well let me put it this way: In the 2020 election, there were a lot of irregularities."

Carson: "Well, there was plenty of fraud. There's no question about that. And I think everybody acknowledges that it was fraud. Well, we have people that say, 'Yes, there was fraud, but it wasn't enough fraud.' You'll notice that the courts really haven't looked at the evidence that exists. It's almost as if they're afraid to look at the evidence that exists."

People: "Ben Carson… demurred when asked whether he would have done what Pence did in a recent Fox News interview. 'Well, first off, people should know that Mike Pence spent a lot of time laboring over that decision,' Carson responded. 'I talked to him the night before and he was really torn over what was the appropriate thing to do.' Carson continued: 'I think it would have been appropriate, perhaps, to look at all of the alternative theories seriously because there was significant controversy about what had happened in the election.'… Asked again if he believed what Pence did was 'right or not,' Carson said, 'I think the right thing would have been to try to focus on having a process that is legitimate.'"

Trump recently praised the violent January 6 insurrection he rallied as "a day of love," and has repeatedly promised pardons for January 6 rioters, who he calls "hostages" and "patriots."

Donald Trump: "And I'll tell you, there was a beauty to it and there was a love to it that I've never seen before […] A small group of people went down to the Capitol, and then a lot of strange things happened […] I'm saying that when I saw that tremendous crowd, the largest group I've ever spoken to, in front of these beautiful monuments. I thought it was actually a beautiful thing."

Trump: "Nothing done wrong at all. Nothing done wrong. […] That was a day of love."

Trump: "January 6, it was the largest crowd I've ever spoken to. And they were there proud, they were there with love in their heart. That was an unbelievable- and it was a beautiful day."

Rachel Scott, ABC News: "140 police officers were assaulted [on January 6]. Their injuries included broken bones, at least one officer lost an eye, one had two cracked ribs, two smashed spinal discs, another had a stroke. Were the people who assaulted those 140 officers, including those I just mentioned, 'patriots' who deserve pardons?"

[Trump refuses to answer]

Scott: "But sir, my question is on those rioters who assaulted officers. Would you pardon those people?"

Trump: "Oh absolutely I would. If they're innocent, I would pardon them."

Scott: "They've been convicted."

The Hill: "Trump describes imprisoned Jan. 6 rioters as 'hostages'"

Trump: "Those people were treated very harshly […] nobody was killed on January 6. But I think that the people on January 6 were treated very unfairly […] they were there to complain about an election, and you know it's very interesting, the biggest crowd I've ever spoken to."

TIME: "Trump has sought to recast the insurrectionist riot as an act of patriotism. 'I call them the J-6 patriots,' Trump tells TIME. When asked whether he would consider pardoning every one of them, he says: 'Yes, absolutely.'"

Trump, who is vowing to be a dictator on "day one," told voters they "won't have to vote anymore" if he's elected president…

The Atlantic: "Trump Says He'll Be a Dictator on 'Day One'"

Trump: "You won't have to do it anymore. Four more years, you know what - it will be fixed, it will be fine. You won't have to vote anymore."

… as he continues to push baseless lies about his 2020 loss by over seven million votes, and refuses to commit to accepting this November's results.

Interviewer: "There have been other close races and men have said, 'listen, for the betterment of the country, we're going to move on, we're going to accept the results of the election.' Would that have been the right course of action?"

Trump: "No, it would've been a terrible thing."

Interviewer: "Would you accept the results of this election?"

Trump: *refuses to say yes*

Associated Press: "[Trump] is flooding the airwaves and his social media platform with distortions, misinformation and unfounded conspiracy theories about his defeat."

NBC News: "Re-litigating the 2020 election, repeating false claims it was stolen and casting aspersions on the security of mail voting remain major fixtures for [Trump] on the stump. … He regularly refers to the 2020 election as 'rigged' on his social media channels."

Associated Press: "Trump, running for the White House for the third time, has signaled that the 2020 election will remain an integral part of his 2024 presidential bid."
