Palmdale Hosts Gun Buyback Event to Promote Public Safety and Reduce Gun Violence

PALMDALE, CA - The City of Palmdale, in partnership with the Palmdale Sheriff's Station, is hosting a gun buyback event to get firearms off the streets and reduce gun violence in our community. Residents who turn in their unwanted firearms will receive gift cards to local businesses.

"Palmdale is taking a firm stance on public safety," said Mayor Austin Bishop. "Together, the City and the Sheriff's station are keeping our community members safe by removing unused or unwanted guns off our streets."

The event will take place on Friday, September 20, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Poncitlán Square, 38315 9th St. East, Palmdale. Firearms must be unloaded and transported in the trunk of your vehicle. No identification is required to participate, and no questions will be asked, ensuring anonymity for all individuals.

"If you're looking for a safe way to voluntarily dispose of your unwanted firearms, this event is it," said Mayor Pro Tem Richard J. Loa. "Turn in your unwanted firearms and earn a gift card to support our local businesses while promoting a safer environment."
