On November 11, 2024, State Police of Saratoga arrested Damion W. Germain, 47, of Glens Falls, NY, for three counts of Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle in the third degree, Obstructing Governmental Administration in the second degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree, Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, and numerous Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.
On November 11, 2024, at about 6:30 p.m., Troopers attempted to stop a vehicle on I-87 in Malta, NY, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. Germain failed to comply, and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit was terminated in the area of Ushers Road in Clifton Park, NY, due to safety concerns as Germain was observed driving recklessly.
Troopers later located Germain stopped at a red light at the intersection of State Route 9 and Fire Road in Halfmoon, NY. When Troopers approached his vehicle, Germain again refused to comply and fled in his vehicle. A pursuit was initiated and continued on multiple roadways until it was terminated on State Route 146 in Mechanicville, NY, due to public safety concerns. Immediately after termination, Germain crashed and overturned on State Route 4.
Germain was taken into custody without incident and determined to be uninjured. No other vehicles were involved in the crash. He was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. Germain refused to provide a sample to determine the drug content of his blood. He was arraigned at the Halfmoon Town Court, where he was released on his own recognizance.
