City of Tampa leaders providing update on Hurricane Milton preparations News Emergency Management, News General, News Parking, News Parks and Recreation, News Tampa Fire[...]

The City of Tampa is working around the clock to prepare for the arrival of Hurricane Milton, including continuous debris collection in the wake of Hurricane Helene.

City officials are urging residents to take steps to secure their debris before the arrival of hurricane conditions, in addition to securing their property and having a plan in place for their families.

Hurricane Milton is expected to hit the Tampa Bay area as a major hurricane. Mandatory evacuations have been ordered for Evacuation Zones A and B. View map.

A press conference with city leaders detailing the final steps being taken to prepare for the storm will occur today, October 8, at 12:30 pm at the Tampa Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
