On November 25, 2024, Troopers out of SP Buffalo arrested a 17-year-old male of Buffalo, NY for Unlawful Fleeing 3rd degree, Obstruction Governmental Administration, Unauthorized use of a Vehicle 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd degree, Resisting Arrest, Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property and multiple Vehicle and Traffic Infractions.
On November 25, 2024, at 7:55 A.M., Troopers out of SP Buffalo observed a 2016 BMW X3 traveling on State Route 33 with the operator not wearing a seatbelt and using a cell phone while the vehicle was in motion. Troopers attempted to stop the BMW and the vehicle failed to comply. The BMW entered the I-90 westbound and exited at Williams Street traveling eastbound in the westbound lane causing a head on collision with another vehicle. The 17-year-old operator exited and fled on foot. Troopers were able to locate the suspect and arrest him. The 2016 BMW was reported stolen through Amherst Police Department. The suspect was in possession of the keys to the vehicle and stolen Airpods from the vehicle. The operator of the uninvolved vehicle was not seriously injured.
The 17-year-old be arraigned at the city of Buffalo Family Court.
