The Nashville Davidson County Register of Deeds will be closed on Monday, November 18 as it transitions to its newly renovated upstairs office located at 300 Deaderick Street while the lower level enters the final phase of construction according to County Register Karen Johnson.
As construction of the15,000 square-foot facility nears completion, the new office is committed to providing excellent customer service by ensuring convenient access to essential public records while utilizing the latest technology in an effective, cost efficient and user-friendly manner.
"We are excited to transition into our beautiful new space which will enhance accessibility for our customers, and we look forward to welcoming everyone to this updated office," Johnson stated.
The office will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, November 19, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with plans for the entire space to be fully operational to the public by February 2025.
The Register of Deeds is a constitutional office established by the Tennessee General Assembly as the custodian of legal documents pertaining to real property. The office is currently led by Karen Johnson, who made history as the first woman and African American elected to the position.
