Farm Bureau members, counties honored at OKFB’s 83rd annual meeting

Oklahoma Farm Bureau honored achievements and accomplishments of the organization's members during the past year at OKFB's annual awards banquet held Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Omni Hotel in Oklahoma City.

Awards were presented to county Farm Bureaus for outstanding achievement in advocating for agriculture and Oklahoma's rural communities with county star awards, the John I. Taylor Award, the Lewis H. Munn Award and more.

Awards were also given to young farmers and ranchers, members of Oklahoma's agriculture community, and nine farm and ranch families who were recognized for upholding our state's richest agricultural traditions.

Awards presented during the evening included:

• John I. Taylor Award - Comanche County Farm Bureau
• Lewis H. Munn Award - Payne County Farm Bureau
• YF&R Charles L. Roff Award - Okmulgee County Farm Bureau
• YF&R Achievement Award - Chasen Doye, Comanche County
• YF&R Excellence in Agriculture Award - Jacob and Chastity Beck, Logan County
• County Excellence Awards - Mayes and Okmulgee County Farm Bureau
• Distinguished Service to OKFB Award - Congressman Frank Lucas
• Presidential Star Awards
  • Six Star Presidential Awards - Cherokee, Comanche, Mayes, Okmulgee, and Payne County
  • Five Star Presidential Awards - Caddo, Garfield, Grant, Kay, Kingfisher, LeFlore, Major, Ottawa, Rogers, Texas, and Washington County
  • Four Star Presidential Awards - Alfalfa, Canadian, Creek, Hughes, Lincoln, Logan, Love, McClain, Muskogee, Noble, Okfuskee, Pottawatomie, Seminole, Tulsa, Washita, and Woodward County
  • Three Star Presidential Awards - Atoka, Beaver, Choctaw, Custer, Haskell, Jackson, Kiowa, McIntosh, Nowata, Oklahoma, Pawnee, Pontotoc, Stephens, and Woods County
• District Farm and Ranch Families of the Year
  • District 1 - Braden and Maria Naylor - Beaver County
  • District 2 - Derek and Paige Jacobs - Tillman County
  • District 3 - Shawn and Debbie Cox - Blaine County

The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Annual Meeting is the organization's largest gathering of farmers and ranchers every year. At the event, members vote on grassroots policy, elect leaders and award outstanding individuals. OKFB has a presence in all 77 Oklahoma counties and serves as the voice of agriculture and the rural way of life.
