June is Alzheimer's and Brain Awareness Month

Losing my friend, Mark Cunningham, to a fatal brain tumor four years ago was a bone-chilling reminder that there still are incurable brain diseases that impact hundreds of thousands of families across the United States.

Unfortunately, our community is far too familiar with brain diseases.

That is why I, along with colleagues, introduced legislation to designate July 17, 2024 as "Glioblastoma Awareness Day." This bipartisan and bicameral legislation is about remembering those we've lost, and giving hope to every man or woman battling this disease.

This Alzheimer's and Brain Awareness Month, I pledge to you that I will continue to fight for extensive research on all forms of brain diseases - until we find a cure.
