DCCC Continues Engaging Voters of Color in Key Battleground Districts Across the Country

In key battleground districts across the country, DCCC in-district Engagement District Directors are hard at work to persuade and mobilize AANHPI, Black, and Latino voters who are crucial to Democrats' path to victory.

The DCCC's investment in local constituency staff is part of the P.O.W.E.R. The People program, the DCCC's historic eight-figure investment to persuade and mobilize AANHPI, Black, and Latino communities ahead of the November election. The engagement district staff have been working with local leaders and members of the community to drive engagement focused on voter registration and education, community outreach, and relationship-building with grassroots leaders and allied stakeholders.

"From meet and greets and Carne Asadas to "fight nights" and mixers across the congressional battlefield, our AANHPI, Black, and Latino Engagement District Directors have been finding a plethora of ways to meaningfully make connections with voters in their communities. These community events are part of our broader strategy to mobilize AANHPI, Black, and Latino voters by meeting them where they are and listening to the things they care most about in their communities."

Here are just some examples of the events happening in key districts across the country in partnership with the DCCC Engagement District Directors:

Noche de Peleas: Canelo Fight Watch Party in CA-13
Boxing night in the Central Valley! We welcomed over 50 community members for a Canelo Álvarez Fight Night Watch party. The event was hosted by a local Democratic supporter from the Latino community before the fight to talk about the issues facing the Latino community in the Central Valley like the water crisis and educational advancement.

AANHPI Meet & Greet in CA-45
Nearly 400 people from across the AANHPI community came together for a special Meet and Greet. The event featured a broad coalition of local Asian community leaders and veterans, in addition to Orange County Democratic Party officials and CAPAC Chair Rep. Judy Chu, who provided remarks. Volunteers helped attendees register to vote and get plugged into opportunities to support Democrats this fall.

Labor Day BBQ in NE-02
In honor of Labor Day and while getting some last summer sun, we hosted a BBQ in Omaha. With over 70 attendees from across the community, the BBQ was centered around creating community with good food, fun games, and shared laughs between candidates and their constituents.

Carne Asada in NM-02
On a nice summer evening in Hobbs, New Mexico we hosted over 60 attendees at a Carne Asada. This event, an opportunity to share good food and talk about the issues that are top of mind, is part of a series of similar Carne Asadas held across the district including in Albuquerque, Anthony, Chaparral, and Las Cruces to meaningfully engage with Latino voters in different parts of the district.

AANHPI Women in Business Event in NV-03
With a focus on bringing together AANHPI women business leaders, our team hosted a Women in Business event with nearly 40 AANHPI women leaders in business, law, and community leadership. The event celebrated the ways both C-suite and small business leaders are pioneering representation in fields where AANHPI women have historically been underrepresented. This event was held at Izakaya Go, a local AANHPI-owned restaurant located in the heart of Nevada's 3rd Congressional District.

Black Men's Forum and Black Women in Leadership Mixer in VA-02
Our team hosted a Black Men's Forum which was a pivotal moment for fostering powerful dialogue among Black men with deep community and business ties in the district. The event featured nearly 50 Black leaders in business, law, and community leadership. Our Black Women in Leadership Mixer featured over 35 Black women in leadership across the district who talked about the most important issues for Black voters in VA-02.
