The Clarksville Street Department is nearing completion of a project to add sidewalks on Roedeer Drive.
Contractors for the City-funded project had a goal of being finished with the work within three weeks, to minimize residential disturbance.
This sidewalk project provides a safe connection to the Kenwood School Complex, as well as the Clarksville Greenway. As of Friday, Nov. 15, all sidewalks have been installed.
Crews will return to the site early in the coming week to add crosswalks into the Clarksville Greenway.
The 1,000-feet-long sidewalk project extends from Broadmore Drive to Mary's Oak Drive on the west side of Roedeer Drive.
It features 5-feet-wide sidewalks with handicapped-accessible ramps, and crosswalks.
This is another in a Citywide series of measures included in the Mayor's Transportation 2020+ master plan. The plan, some of which is already in visible progress, includes steps to improve streets and highways, intersections, and traffic signalizations, as well as sidewalks.
