Dallas Fed names Karen Smith assistant vice president in banking supervision and regulation

DALLAS-The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas has named Karen Smith as assistant vice president in charge of overseeing mergers and acquisitions, enforcement and records management with the banking supervision group.

Smith is a commissioned banking examiner and has been on the Dallas Fed's mergers and acquisitions team for 16 years, most recently as a director.

She has overseen the implementation of new policies and procedures for the department and has been the Dallas Fed's representative on the Federal Reserve's systemwide mergers and acquisitions management group.

Smith has also served as co-chair of the Fed's group that has run training for the system's first cloud-based technology platform, known as FedEZFile.

She holds a BBA in economics and finance from Baylor University.
