Suspect Arrested in Clovis’ Second Homicide of 2024

A suspect has been arrested in a domestic violence-related homicide that occurred this morning at a home in Clovis. On Saturday, October 19, 2024, officers responded to a disturbance at a home in the 3800 block of Hampton Way. Several family members and children were found in the home, where an adult female had been shot. First responders attempted life-saving measures, however the victim sadly passed away in the home.

While Detectives and our Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene, patrol officers began following up on leads. Just after 1:00 P.M. this afternoon, the suspect turned himself into officers at the Clovis Police Department without incident. The suspect has been identified as 21-year-old Tavion Tapscott of Fresno. Tapscott will be booked into Fresno County Jail for homicide, felony child endangerment, and other related charges. The adult female victim is known to Tapscott, however, her identity is not being released at this time.
