Potsdam male arrested for Promotion of a Sexual Performance

On 09/18/24, the New York State Police Troop B Computer Crime Unit arrested DONALD B. CHARLESTON, JR. of Butternut Ridge Road, Potsdam, New York on one count each of Promotion of a Sexual Performance by a Child and Possession of a Sexual Performance by a Child. The investigation was initiated by an online platform reporting to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) child exploitation material had been sent through that online platform from CHARLESTON's residence.

CHARLESTON was issued Appearance Tickets, answerable in Town of Potsdam Court on a later date.

The investigation is still ongoing.
