Public Groundbreaking Ceremony for New Recreation Department Gym Will be Held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26

The public is invited to a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Monroe County Recreation Department gymnasium at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26.

The new two-court, indoor recreation gym will be located at the site of the existing outdoor basketball courts, which are being relocated to make way for the new gym. The new gym is expected to cost just over $2.8 million to construct. Forsyth's own Proform Construction is the builder for the project.

The groundbreaking will be held at the Monroe County Recreation Department at 100 Dan Pitts Drive, Forsyth, GA 31029.
