December 12, 2024
WASHINGTON, DC-Registration is now open for Finnegan's 2025 Finnegan IP University program. The free program, which starts on February 5, 2025, introduces undergraduate and graduate STEM students to career opportunities in IP law. During the four weeks of online educational programming, participants will learn about various types of IP rights, the basics of drafting patent applications, and how to prosecute those applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Participants will also have an opportunity to meet and network with IP professionals at Finnegan to understand the work of an IP attorney and the various career paths within intellectual property.
Finnegan IP University launched in 2022 with over 160 participants from across the country. The program aims to attract STEM candidates who often do not know about the possibilities in IP law until after graduation. Anand Sharma, Finnegan partner and chair said, "The firm's success and growth are proof of the benefits of a collaborative culture that supports a range of initiatives to attract a diverse array of talent."
Participants who complete Finnegan IP University are given priority consideration for career opportunities at Finnegan.
