Pinellas Update: Boil water notice lifted for southern barrier islands

Pinellas County Utilities has lifted the boil water notice issued from John's Pass to Tierra Verde. Water quality testing confirms water in this area now meets all federal and state drinking water standards. Homes and businesses should let the water run for at least five minutes before using.

Utilities crews have been working around the clock to repair pipes in the potable water system that were damaged during Hurricane Milton and Hurricane Helene.

We are asking customers to continue to conserve water use to limit the amount of wastewater entering the sanitary sewer system. This will help prevent sanitary sewer overflows as crews continue their work of bringing pump stations back online.

There may be properties from John's Pass to Tierra Verde that are not adequately receiving drinking water due to damage on the customers' private side of the water service line. We will be working with customers as they hire licensed plumbers to make the repairs on their private property during this phase of recovery.
