Bushman also reminisces about one of his most unforgettable episodes. "The craziest show I ever did was when I got in a pair of snake chaps and let a huge rattlesnake bite me. I'm more known as the tall skinny guy that jumps and screams from snakes than any big buck I have ever taken!" he laughs.

"When some of the major networks started feeling pressure from outside sources concerning hunting and guns, the Outdoor Channel stepped up and made that commitment to feature this lifestyle programming. When that happened, outdoor TV skyrocketed!"

Over the years, the channel has attracted diverse personalities from all parts of the globe, which has offered outdoor viewers a wide variety of content to tune in, download or stream. "Outdoor Channel's presence has also led a new generation to get involved in the outdoors, and that's a great thing," Bushman adds.

"There are so many great producers bringing fantastic educational and entertaining programming. I'm so proud to be part of this unique culture," Bushman remarks.

However, one particular annual episodes holds a special place in Bushman's heart- the Buckmasters Lifehunt. "This hunt hosts terminally ill kids and wounded soldiers. We have been blessed to make a lot of dreams come true over the years, and it has been an honor and pleasure to be part of this hunt for over 28 years," he shares.

A Message for Aspiring Outdoor Enthusiasts

For those passionate about the outdoor lifestyle, Bushman offers some words of wisdom. "If this is your passion, go for it," Bushman shares. "It is a big commitment with a lot of traveling. Plus, you need a very understanding spouse because the hunting season starts in August and goes through the next May, depending on what type of show you are producing."
