Walberg Votes to Block Biden-Harris EV Mandate

Washington, D.C. -- Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-05) issued the following statement after he supported Rep. John James' resolution to block the Biden-Harris tailpipe emissions rule.

"Across southern Michigan, few issues are as unpopular as the Biden-Harris EV mandates that continue to be pushed," said Rep. Walberg. "Michiganders understand the Biden-Harris administration continues to issue unrealistic benchmarks forcing automakers to make more and more EVs, and consumers would rather have the choice to buy whatever car suits them best. With bipartisan support, we passed my CARS Act last December, and today, we passed John James' legislation to block this Biden-Harris de facto mandate. The auto industry's future should be forged through innovation in Michigan, not by edicts from bureaucrats in Washington."
