King Features Syndicate, home to some of the world's most popular entertainment characters announces the release of the latest TV commercial in the JOYL AJINOMOTO Olive Oil series featuring their classic characters Popeye the Sailor Man and Olive Oyl.The latest release in the TV commercial series, 'Olive's Table', features the recipe for Camembert Ajillo.

This is the fifth series of olive oil TV commercials, as part of a continued collaboration with the popular cartoon characters from Popeye™, which began in June 2021. This time, Ayami Nakajo, who plays the live-action Olive Oyl™, the girlfriend of Popeye, serves up and enjoys Camembert Ajillo with shrimp and tomato, made using ample amounts of olive oil. Seeing her blissful expression as she enjoys this dish, perfect for the autumn and winter months, conveys to consumers how they can make the most of the deliciousness of JOYL AJINOMOTO Olive Oil Extra Virgin, while showcasing the product's distinctive aroma and pleasing flavor.

"Olive Oyl is a natural fit for promotion of both olive oil products and creativity in the kitchen since she enjoys cooking and hosting meals for loved ones at her table."

The commercial's storyline featured Ayami Nakajo as Olive Oyl, standing in the kitchen holding a skillet. She's preparing piping hot Camembert Ajillo with shrimp and tomato, made using an ample amount of JOYL AJINOMOTO Olive Oil Extra Virgin. Olive takes a bite and is impressed by how delicious it is. Following that, the image cuts to one of being immersed in an olive grove, the production area for the olives used in the JOYL AJINOMOTO Olive Oil range of product. It then flashes to an image of fresh olive oil poured onto a spoon, followed by an image of the product and the overlaying narration with the key message "Your food will be transformed with this delicious fresh olive oil." The commercial ends with an introduction of the new JOYL AJINOMOTO Olive Oil Extra Virgin 500g Smart Green Pack, environmentally friendly paper carton packaging that reduces the use of plasticand CO2.

The new live action commercial follows the successful debut of previous J-Oil Mills commercials featuring the iconic Popeye characters. Through this new series of commercials highlighting the essential spirit of the world-renowned spinach-eating sailor, J-Oil Mills invites consumers to recognize more fully the family appeal of their brand and see that their products are a great addition for use in home dining.

The JOYL AJINOMOTO Olive Oil series was launched in 1996 and since then has been loved by families for more than quarter of a century. In March this year, the package design was renewed and environmentally friendly paper cartons were added for use in the range.

Since the launch of this series, we have been particular about the freshness of our olive oil and only that with an acidity of 0.3% or less (our own standard), a level stricter than international standards (acidity of 0.8%), are carefully selected and purchased from suppliers in Spain. We further maintain the freshness and high quality through use of our unique technology for containers and packaging.
