Turner Construction Company received the 2024 U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) Leadership Award for Organizational Excellence.
"The USGBC Leadership Awards recognize individuals and organizations at the forefront of our movement to transform the built environment," said Peter Templeton, President and CEO of USGBC.
More than 20 years ago, Turner launched formal efforts to increase the sustainability and resiliency of the built environment. The company continues to introduce innovative approaches and services that make Turner better builders, foster a more sustainable supply chain, and positively impact the planet. Turner's sustainability team enables the company to effectively serve clients across multiple industries who seek higher levels of environmental performance and resiliency in their facilities.
Turner has consistently made efforts to be a sustainable builder, ranking as the number one Green Builder by Engineering News-Record for the past 16 years. Turner is reducing energy, water, and waste in its operations and has made a commitment to have Net-Zero Emissions by 2040. The company is accelerating efforts to sustain the planet for future generations through such efforts as advancing the adoption of highly advanced mass timber construction methods and piloting the use of innovative low-carbon concrete on projects such as One Boston Wharf.
