Birds of prey symposium abstracts due Oct. 25

The Morley Nelson Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area Symposium is Nov. 7 and 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days. An after-hours research sharing event will be held Nov. 7 from 4:30-6 p.m. The symposium will showcase research, conservation-based projects and partnerships associated with the National Conservation Area.

Resource professionals, students and citizen scientists will present short project summaries (15 minutes with five minutes for questions) to expand on the historic work done in the National Conservation Area, stimulate new questions and partnerships, and identify data gaps that need to be addressed in the future. Topics may include but are not limited to soils, vegetation, restoration, wildlife, raptors, recreation, human dimensions of natural and cultural resources, social sciences, climate change, resource management or other topics relative to the National Conservation Area.

Submit an abstract if you are interested in presenting an oral project summary or a poster at the after-hours event from 4:30-6 p.m. Abstracts are due by close of business on Oct. 25. Final selections for presentations will be made by Oct. 29 and all final presentations must be received no later than Nov. 1.
