Washington, D.C. - In response to the results of the 2024 vote and the election of Donald J. Trump and J.D. Vance to the Presidency and Vice Presidency, Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council (SBE Council) President & CEO Karen Kerrigan issued the following statement:

"Economic uncertainty, elevated costs and bad policy for the duration of the Biden-Harris Administration imposed an outsized toll on America's entrepreneurs and small business owners. As revealed in SBE Council's pre-election survey, small business owners picked Trump over Vice President Kamala Harris given their belief the former president would better lead the country on all the major issues, particularly the economy. Entrepreneurs want and need a policy environment that encourages investment, innovation and growth. Not one that punishes them for succeeding, and creating jobs and financial prosperity for their communities, employees and families."

"U.S. competitiveness and innovation have suffered under policies that undermine our entrepreneurs and businesses, both at home and abroad. SBE Council looks forward to working with the incoming Trump administration and Congress on advancing policies that lower elevated costs, restore stability and growth in our economy, and support our entrepreneurs as they work to launch their ideas and grow their businesses."
