As the 2024 event season winds down, your Community Events team at the City of Portland is here with an exciting announcement and some helpful updates.
First, we extend a heartfelt thank you for a marvelous season! Together, we made hundreds of amazing events possible. We are grateful for your creativity and commitment to the community. We hope you feel proud of all you made possible in our streets in 2024.
Beginning December 4th, Community Events will have a new application! While the application looks different, the information gathered and the requirements for hosting events in the street will largely remain the same. This new application helps streamline our internal process and will therefore make things easier for you. Please give yourself extra time as you navigate our new application and feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns. Our new application will be located on our webpage beginning December 4th.
We will pause processing new applications on November 30th. If you have events that begin promptly in January, please submit an application as soon as you are able (but no later than November 30th.) As always, please feel free to submit your applications as early as you can. We look forward to processing your 2025 applications beginning January 2nd, 2025.
Our fees will be increasing by an industry-standard 5%, effective January 1st, 2025. While fee increases are not the most fun, we hope you understand that this increase is the lowest we can manage while still making community event opportunities for all possible. Please note that all events that occur in 2025 will be charged the new fees, regardless of when you apply. You can view our new fee table by scrolling to the bottom of our webpage.
Celebrate with us!
Our small team can't make it to all your wonderful events, but we'd love to share in the fun. Please email us any pictures that showcase your events so we can admire your hard work! You might even be featured on our webpage.
