Uniontown, PA - Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing scheduled daily single-lane restrictions on northbound Interstate 79 from Monday, November 18 to Wednesday, November 20, in:

  1. Whitely Township, Greene County
  • From: Mount Morris Welcome Center/Weigh Station
  • To: Exit 7 (Kirby/Garards Fort)
  • Time: Daylight hours
  1. South Strabane and Chartiers townships, Washington County
  • From: Exit 18/38 (I-70 North Junction)
  • To: Exit 40 (Meadow Lands)
  • Time: Overnight hours

All work is weather and operational-dependent, and timeframes may shift.

Penn Line Service, Inc. will perform Road Weather Information System (RWIS) maintenance at both locations, including replacing system cabinets and installing subsurface probes in the roadway. This work is part of an on-demand highway lighting maintenance contract covering Fayette, Greene, Washington, and Westmoreland counties, representing a $426K infrastructure investment.

Exercise caution during night work and while approaching the work zone. Remain alert and follow the posted signs and speed limits. Safety is everyone's responsibility.
