SFPD Arrests Narcotics Trafficking Suspect 24-128

Over 1,100 grams of Fentanyl, 100 grams of Meth, guns seized

Over the course of the past month, members of the SFPD Narcotics Unit and members of the San Francisco Sheriff's Office, Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), and the Army National Guard conducted an investigation of a known narcotics trafficker. The investigation revealed that the suspect actively sells fentanyl in the area of 6th and Market streets. The Narcotics Unit officers developed probable cause to obtain a search warrant for the suspect, the suspect's vehicle, and the residence which is located in Oakland, California. SFPD Narcotics Unit investigators coordinated efforts with the other law enforcement agencies to conduct the search warrant service and to make the arrest.

On October 29, 2024, at approximately 12 AM SFPD officers observed the suspect at 5th and Market Streets and developed probable cause to arrest him for narcotics trafficking. Officers discovered that the suspect was in possession of suspected Fentanyl and methamphetamine.

After the arrest in the early hours of October 30, 2024, the SFPD Narcotics Unit with assistance from the San Francisco Sheriff's Office, the United States Army National Guard, and the DEA served the search warrant at the suspect's residence on 1100 block of 11th Ave. in Oakland, Ca. During the search officers located and seized additional fentanyl (over 1 kilo), methamphetamine (over100 grams), marijuana (1.5 lbs.), loaded firearms (including machine gun), high-capacity magazines, ammunition, US currency, and items used for narcotics trafficking/manufacturing.

The suspect, identified as 22-year-old male, Axel Narniel Escoto Amaya was transported to San Francisco County Jail and was booked for the violations of sales of controlled substance possession for sale (Fentanyl), possession for sale of methamphetamine, possession for sale of a controlled substance while armed, unlawful possession of a machine gun, possession for sale of marijuana, maintaining a premise where narcotics are used/sold, transportation of a controlled substance, and manufacturing a controlled substance.
