Councilmember Moore Celebrates Passage of City’s Transportation Levy

Following tonight's first round of election results showing Proposition 1 the City of Seattle's Transportation Levy being approved by voters, District 5 Seattle City Councilmember Cathy Moore released the following statement:

"Passage of Prop 1 is a huge win for new sidewalks in District 5, which has 36% of Seattle's missing sidewalks. That's why I fought for and achieved historic funding in the levy for new sidewalks and alternative pathways and prioritized District 5 for their construction to remedy our historic deficit. I want to thank Transportation Chair Saka for his unwavering support of new sidewalks in the levy package. Thank you to Seattle voters for passing this historic investment in transportation and sidewalks!"

The Transportation Levy package includes $111 million for new sidewalks and sidewalk alternatives, a significant increase from the $63 million introduced in the original proposal.
