Public Service Announcement: Waste Pro Update, Landfill Update (Storm Debris & Food Spoilage), and Curbside Storm Debris Pickup

As we work to develop a plan for curbside storm debris collection, we ask that while you are cleaning up your yards, please leave debris in neat piles separated by debris type along the road.

For your convenience, we have included an infographic illustrating the categories of debris and providing examples of each to help guide your cleanup efforts.

We will share more information as the collection plan is finalized.

In the meantime, the Wakulla County Landfill at 146 County Landfill Road will be open for residents to dispose of residential yard debris starting Saturday, September 28th, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and continuing Monday, September 30th through Saturday, October 5th, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

Fees are waived, but residents must show proof of residency to access the landfill. Acceptable proof includes a driver's license, mail, or utility bills.

Additionally, today, September 28th, until 3 p.m., the landfill will also be accepting food spoilage at 146 County Landfill Road.

Food spoilage only: If you can wait and dispose of it with your regular garbage pickup, please do so, as space is limited.

We plan to accept food spoilage on Monday, September 30th, and Tuesday, October 1st, but again, space is limited.

Waste Pro Services: Residential garbage collection will resume on Monday, September 30, 2024.

Thank you for your cooperation as we work together to clean up after the storm. Stay safe!
