Neighbor engagement and Commission Night Out meeting set for Oct. 22

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The City Commission is inviting the community to its final City Commission Night Out (CNO) meeting of 2024. The Tuesday, Oct. 22 event takes place at Grand Rapids Public Schools (GRPS) University, 1400 Fuller Ave. NE in Grand Rapids. This is the last of three CNO meetings this year and includes an engagement session and a business meeting with public hearings.

Doors open at 5 p.m. with dinner provided. An engagement period follows at 5:30 p.m. City departments will host information tables beginning at 5:30 p.m. The evening's City Commission meeting begins at 7 p.m.

During the 5:30 p.m. engagement session, City officials will detail results of the National Community Survey and will look to gain additional feedback from community members about what those Grand Rapids findings mean to them. For those interested in interacting with additional departments, resource tables will be set up at the Commission Night Out event. Staff from 311/Customer Service, Water, Public Works, Human Resources, GRFD/Office of Emergency Management, and GRPD for selected services.

The 7 p.m. City Commission meeting will air on Comcast Channel 26 and be live streamed on the City of Grand Rapids Facebook page and YouTube channel.
