The University of Vermont (UVM) Grossman School of Business (GSB) again ranks at the top of the Corporate Knights 2024 Better World MBA ranking, jumping from 5th in the world in 2023 to 2nd globally, and climbing to #1 in the United States. This makes the seventh consecutive year that GSB's Sustainable Innovation MBA (SI-MBA) secured a top 10 position in Better World MBA rankings. It also marks the return to the top spot domestically again since it was #1 in 2019. Among U.S. universities, the Grossman School of Business's SI-MBA program has always remained third or above in the Corporate Knights rankings.

SI-MBA is an accelerated one-year program that focuses on equipping graduates with the knowledge and the toolkit to manage and transform businesses by embedding sustainability in their operations. It is an intense and rapid learning experience that allows graduates to return to the workforce making an impact in less time than a conventional two-year MBA.

Better World MBA Rankings

Every year Corporate Knights, a specialized media and investment research firm, issues its annual ranking of the world's most sustainable MBA programs. This year's top 40 MBA programs span 14 countries - with 12 U.K., six Canadian and six U.S. programs. To determine the ranking, Corporate Knights evaluated 174 business schools around the world, drawn from the most recent Financial Times list of the top 100 global MBA programs; The Princeton Review Best Green MBA list; schools that made the 2022 Corporate Knights Better World top 40 roster; and business schools like GSB accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) or other accrediting body, and also signatories to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education that opt in for evaluation. Sustainability Taught by Leaders in the Field

The award-winning Sustainable Innovation MBA is designed for aspiring changemakers who are motivated to use business as a force for good in society. This pioneering program is designed and delivered by thought leaders who have defined the field of sustainable

business through their research and practice. An accelerated, one-year, full-time, on-campus program that equips students with the necessary skills to build sustainable businesses or transform conventional businesses into sustainable ones, the SI-MBA program embraces an encompassing view of sustainability, addressing both social and environmental challenges with sustainability as its core focus.

"Twelve years ago, the faculty of the Grossman School of Business established a focus: to prepare all students to become successful responsible managers in ever-changing complex, global, multi-stakeholder and sustainable business environments," reflected Dean Sanjay Sharma, "We set out to educate business leaders for the future, and as the prestigious Corporate Knights ranking has repeatedly recognized, we have built the best sustainability-focused MBA programs in the world."

Distinguished from other programs, students learn directly from the scholars creating knowledge at the frontiers of the sustainable business field. SI-MBA faculty create the knowledge that goes into textbooks on sustainable business that other programs teach from. Collectively, SI-MBA faculty research has been cited more than 136,000 times.
